As I sit here in the last few minutes of 2017 I can’t help but reflect on what this year brought me. While sadness was a major component with 2 more miscarriages, I’m happy to say that it’s the positive moments that first flood my ever fading memory. The new (and old) friendships that have restored my heart & soul (you girls know who you are…thank you for your love, acceptance & many nights of wine consumption!) , the ministry that has given me a new sense of joy and the renewed peace in my heart that has not only mended broken relationships but freed me of unnecessary guilt.
I’m ready to forgive 2017 for all the hurt, cherish it for all the love & embrace it for all the growth. While 2018 is a complete mystery, it’s also a source of excitement. What has He written in our stories for the upcoming year? Will I finish my book, have more children, continue my passion in teaching His word? It brings me a sense of comfort knowing He has hand picked every second of every hour. He has laid it out & it is by our faith that we can walk it alongside him with confidence & grace.
So while I don’t have any specific resolutions, other than to knock off these super cute (not cute at all…not even a little bit) holiday 15lbs…I do have hope. Hope that I will continue to seek Him in all that I do this year. Hope that I will continue to trust in His plan, even when it hurts & doesn’t align with mine. Hope that those in my life hurting will find Him, find peace & find purpose.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NLT
With growth, comes struggle. So, in the tough moments we are all promised to face, I pray for each of you reading this, that you will embrace your struggles as the very water & sun that will grow you into the fruitful plant, producing a righteous harvest.
“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
Galatians 6:9 NLT
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.”
Philippians 4:13 NLT
Happy New Year! Xoxo,
